The Rock Puppy
I'm a bit late to the party with this, but I just read that Leon Redbone died at the end of May. Bit of a pity, really. He certainly followed his own path. Didn't mind a bit of Leon every now and again.
allthumbs
I saw Leon Redbone at the Bottom Line in NY around the late 80's, I'd known of the guy, Southern Gentlemen in Colonel Sanders suit. I'd missed Wainwright III by a week or so, but hey it's the Bottom Line. Really great show enjoyed every minute of it he had a great really tight band and a devoted audience.

I saw Leon Redbone in Washington in a very small club or bar in 1975 Very unusual music from memory he made some weird noises with his mouth Had 2 of his records but I never went on with it Bob Dylan was a fan and I saw some photos of Dylan from memory in the early 70’s Attending an outdoor festival to see Leon play
mrbuzzardstubble
That's sad news. Redbone came to Australia in the early 80's I think. He appeared on the Don Lane show one evening and Don was frustrated because Leon would answer his questions with a simple yes or no. I have this album.
