Isotek isoplug

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody

Has any one tried and used a isotek isoplug with the isotek Polaris board. Would this help reduce noise and increase performance? The board has individual plugs that are isolated anyway and would this deem the isoplug ineffective in this case. Let me know what people think Cheers

I don't think there'd be much point if plugging at the board.

You could try the isoplug near a fridge, pc or other noisy item throughout the house though

Thanks bunno77

That was my thought as well

I have a theatre setup across the way. If i deploy the isoplug there do you think it will help my stereo as well. Being in the same room

Maybe but if on the same circuit the polaris does quite well for the whole circuit. They are cheap though and worth a try. Easy to sell if no advantage for you personally.

I have one and it helped when I lived in a bigger apartment block. Not so much now

As has already been mentioned, you wont achieve much plugging the IsoPlug into the board. Ideally, if the Polaris is connected to a double GPO, the IsoPlug is designed to sit in the other socket.

IsoPlugs are best served plugged into GPOs located to noisy products, such as fridges, pool pumps etc

I bought one a while ago but have not really used it. Gone to a balanced power supply.

I may sell it if someone wants to give it a go.

Thanks to everyone who replied so far.
I definitely agree that the isoplug is not affective on the same circuit as the polaris. I did try though and nothing much happened or improvement. But i did put beside the polaris circuit on my double gpo and wow big difference i thought. It opened the audio up and felt it wasnt being strangled. Thanks again and looking for more thoughts and comments

Hi paulid

This is probably a legitimate test but its not the only factor people take into consideration.  Each output on the polaris is individually isolated from each other preventing cross contamination. Keeping everything clean providing you have decent power cables to keep the clean link. The Thor power board has three banks each bank isolated but consist of 1 output isolated. 3 output isolated and 4 output isolated and when using bank 2 or 3 with other equipment it is just putting contaminates back in or around. He should plug into 1 and see the reading

This is definitely the best way of using it.
