I thought I heard CAV we’re taking on Spendor - might be worth a call.

So, you probably guessed that everone has a different perspective on they find best at this pricepoint.

Trust your ears and pick what you liked best, dont be swayed by others experiences. Listen to as many speakers/systems as you can - thats part of the fun.

Put up a wtb add hete - you may be surprised by what turns up.

I gave him the same advice on the Harbeth thread. There’s plenty of good speakers at 20 grand, but which does he like best. Gary the music monster 🎶

thought better start a separate topic instead taking over the Harbeth discussion.

I have been setting my ears on my next hifi setup.

So far i have listened to various Speakers, Goldenears Reference Tritons, Magico A3, Magnepans 20.7, Hybrid Maggies. and Harbeth 40.2. All sound great but the 40.2 so far is on top of my list.

I have been recommended to audition the ATC SCM50 (Active) and Avantgarde Zero (Active).

what other speaker/amp combinations would you add to audition?

The active ATC's are absolutely stunning.........especially with their matching pre.

Can't see you getting a  new pair for anywhere near $20K though...

Here's a prime example of a great lightly used pair with the new (much lauded) in house tweeters that would be around your budget....

Definitely look into horns. Horns are my overall favourite. Gary the music monster 🎶

If you are truly searching and don't call Rom at Sonic Purity for a listening session with the Kii 3 you are not doing you due diligence IMHO.

If you like the Harbeths I would recommend listening to the Graham equivalent.

I have the 5/9s which I auditioned side by side with the equivalent Harbeths.
