kev67
Hi, just wanted to ask the community for there opinions and advice on which way I should go. I have an option to go with either system, the Yammy consists of the M-40 & C-40 combo, $850, then the Nad 2200 no pre-amp $350 I'd like to run the amps through my Sansui AU999 & use the Sansui as the pre-amp, both are in great condition. What are your thoughts. Cheers kev67.
John Harris
Nad 2200 just just sold my spare NAD 1020 pre for $120 so sure you could find another pre for under $150 but if your using the Sansui its a no brainer Edited July 14, 2019 by John Harris

mbz
I refurb'd my C-40, nice but entry level. $850- for the M-/C-40 combo seems a bit expensive. The CX-1000 is a better item as are the C-70/-80/-85... The NAD is a power envelope design which have some history of failure when pushed hard. The NAD probably needs a freshen up since they typically used budget caps. I've got one with blown outputs etc... I'd refurb (recap etc...) the AU-999 and probably end up with a better result. kev67
OK thanks for your advice, I've picked up the set a Nad 2200 power amp with the 1155 Pre-amp from a member. I've already spoken to my tech, & he'll take a look at them when they arrive. Cheers Kev67
