Darren69
Anyone got any personal experience with these? Have emailed REL to see how I could go wireless with my pair of S/3's from the DSPeaker Anti Mode. https://rel.net/shop/accessories/longbow/ Daz
Darren69
Will take that as a NOO Lifestyle store have given me a great price for a pair. Will need two due to the fact that I run the DSPeaker Anti Mode which will send a slightly different command to each speaker through it's respective Longbow transmitter. If you don't get up to such malarkey, one Longbow will operate up to 4 subs once they are paired. So, if you get a decent price for whatever you require, they are comparable to cables when you take into account in my scenario the price for a pair of long subwoofer cables of good quality at around 6 to 10m, you are maybe 2/3rds the price of the transmitters. Four Egg Zample even a pair of 10m Monster subwoofer cables from Hardly Normal would see me $400 out of pocket, a transmitter is $499 and less than that if you ask the right shop. Also I have heard of hum issues due to such long RCA cable runs but my 'mind jury' is out on that one, currently running 4m (I think) Cable Solution cables with Canare RCA's and not a sound from the subs. If you go the transmitter route, your next restriction is available GPO's for both the transmitters and the subwoofer(s). Still meditating though. REL have been excellent, getting back to me on all of my email queries to date. Edited July 10, 2019 by Darren69
Satanica
How much delay to the actual sub-woofer (in milliseconds) does one of these create? There has to be some. EDIT: This appears to be an independent measurement of 17 milliseconds. https://www.soundandvision.com/content/rel-acoustics-habitat1-subwoofer-page-2 Edited July 11, 2019 by Satanica

How I would love to have 5 meters of spare space to play with, so 17 feet of subwoofer movement wont be an issue. Whether 17 ms outweighs a bit more placement freedom to suit the space, time will tell. Again, longer cables can also be had but the price gap narrows and one less cable laying around was attractive to me. Tangent- one wonders whether the act of measuring instead of going by ear is just as psychosomatic as shifting something around and enjoying the result without backing up with a measure. In the article the words 'audible to some' made me think, yeah maybe audible after someone looked at a measurement. That would be ironic.
Guest
I’ve thought about trying this out with my T9i considering it’s rather a cheap option to muck about with.
