Tobes
Item: Location: Bendigo Price: 1300 Item Condition: 7/10 (for age only - never missed a beat) Reason for selling: Funds to cover recent speaker purchase Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: The Cary PH302 is an all valve phono stage with built in Lundahl step up transformers for medium output MC cartridges. (MM/MC switch via front panel). The phono circuit appears based on the well regarded passive RIAA circuit from the RCA tube manual but implemented with the very good sounding 6SL7 valves. Second 6sl7 is direct coupled parallel triode cathode follower. Mine has been modded with Clarity Caps for the output and coupling between the first two stages, Multicap RTX in the PS and Aura T (1%) teflon caps in the RIAA. Have some spare 6SL7's to roll, mostly NOS Sylvania brown/black base - so much better than than the Russian build stock Tung-Sol tubes. The GZ34 rectifier tube is a coveted 1968 vintage Mullard. MC gain is 54dB and MM 38dB. Because tube gain is low and augmented with SUT this is a quiet tube phono. Also have a K&K Audio premium step up using Lundahl LL1941 SUT's (little box in the photo below) and providing 24/30dB gain for $400. Provides more gain and better performance than built in Lundahl LL9206 SUT's. Will do a bundle price if someone wants the K&K external SUT + PH302. Happy to answer any questions. Tobes
I might withdraw this from sale for the moment - still considering my phono options.
