4K Dolby Atmos 7.1 / 7.2 or 9.2 or 11.2 to replace a SONY 1080

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a receiver to replace a SONY STR DN 1080 7.2 ATMOS receiver

Small 1 bedroom unit so it does not need to be super powerful.

Would prefer a decent room analyzer software, not impressed with the SONY.

Denon AVR-X3500H looks nice

Speakers -

FRONT Mission 751 bookshelf

CENTRE Mission 75C

REAR B&W M1 MKII

FRONT HEIGHTS B&W M1 MKII

SUBWOOFER Velodyne SPL 800i

Trying to get more Mission 751 for the centre and front height channels

ROOM

7 metres by 10 metres

Budget $2000

Not sure why you are posting twice? Suggest removing WTB until you decide on unit here.

I assume that room analyser software is room correction software. Best are Dirac Live and Anthem Room Correction, but Anthem outside your budget. That leaves the NAD T758V3 with Dirac Live. And there is one in Classifieds.

as far as denon goes this model comes with audyssey xt32. which will be perfectly adequate.

the denon i suspect grunt enough in power specs to feed the missions. as they are not particularly demanding speakers. I remember the 751 :) rest of the 75 complement

that said ... if keep a keen eye out, do look for superseded models... you can save a bundle over new and as long as something from later than 2016 will likely find will hit all specs you require.

I note you list 9.1 or 11.2 in your specs. keep in mind as the amp channels increase it gets increasingly difficult for price to fit in decent enough amplification in the chassis for your money to support... something gotta give.... so for quality and especially if dont need, try keep the channels down... ie to spread you money less thinly around and for best quality can afford instead.
