Calling out to Pioneer PL-30 I / II (Rosewood veneer version) owners for help

Hi all,

I have one of these turntables which is currently undergoing a restoration process with the underside PCB being electronically refurbished (out of spec capacitors and resistors etc). A slight mistake has been made with 4 old grey sleeved ELNA capacitors near the PSU section of the circuit and the problem is 2 caps are bipolar and 2 polarised. I don't know which pair to which position is polarised and non-polarised, the electronic symbol on the PCB doesn't give any indication either.

There is no schematic online for this turntable.

Anybody who owns this turntable be able to assist?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Always take a photo first!

Is there not a + or - symbol on two of the positions? It would then be likely to assume the other two are bipolar.

From @Grizzly‘s pics the boards have + markings for the caps

Thanks grizzley, the 4 grey ELNA caps near the transformer connector can I please get a closer up picture of that position? Also from memory the bipolar caps is 47uf and the polarised caps 100uf?

cheers,

Would also appreciate if an actual PL-30 owner can chime in with some pictures. @jakeyb77 no polarity markings for the 100uf caps on my pcb.

cheers,
All 4 here are marked as bipolar, the 3 larger are 47 and the smaller is 100. Perhaps the boards are quite different after all. Let me know if I can help further. 20190614_205637.jpeg20190614_205605.jpeg20190614_205618.jpeg

Exactly what I was after.

Seems the pl30 has the same board.
