Anyone order some speakers from Thailand?

Recommended Posts

Imagine the reviews. "at first they were a little muffled, but then when I removed some of the internal dampening they really opened up"

The highs were just too strong for me, and the lows, don’t even get me started.

Spare a thought for all the addicts at the bottom of the drug supply chain. Here's a little ditty to help brighten their day.

I find this particularly ironic because I ordered 1 billion dollars of ice last week and when it arrived I found two speakers burried in it.

Nobody buys a container load of speakers from Thailand, that's probably what drew customs' attention.

Indeed Thailand--I can only recall those Rock (Stone) doozies couple of decades ago from there.

I recall a similar episode in the late 80's with some Hash in Speakers caught at the gate across the Ditch.

Wonder if todays bust will mean increased Scrutiny on Private/all imports of Stereo gear.

Hmmm☺️

I'm thinking the same brand used in the 'Back of the Van' scam but they tried to keep overheads down by not hiring the Van. B)

Guest Muon N'

I was hoping to see them with the drivers in, how sad is that!

Edit: or at least the drivers to the side :(

I think they might have been B&O. They didn't want the 1 billion dollar customs declaration to look too suspicious.

anyone know what the speakers were [emoji3]

Yeah, I hope when they gather up the priks, who were involved, they take them behind the Cop Shop and put a bullet in their heads😒:thumb:

Doesn't matter what brand those speakers are, they're high-fi all the way.

Item: ELAC BS 243.3 Bookshelf Speakers - black
      Location: Collingwood, Melbourne
      Price: 1,200, negotiable
      Item Condition: 10/10
      Reason for selling: Raising funds
      Payment Method: Pickup - Cash
      Extra Info:

Picked up from Vinyl Revival in Fitzroy late last year (Nov), selling to raise some funds.

I auditioned a few bookshelf speakers and found these to be the best sounding and looking of the ones I tried in the two weeks I spent in there auditioning! I've had these in my apartment and they fill the space beautifully, lovely to listen to in the background but can definitely deliver if asked to. I have had them hooked up to a Sonos AMP. The jet tweeter delivers a lot of detail in the highs and they sound like much larger speakers for the size.

The build and finish are beautiful. Glossy black, and really cool looking under the grille.

Bought for 1,995, selling for 30% off: https://web.archive.org/web/20190407073809/https://www.vinylrevival.com.au/collections/elac/products/elac-bs-243-2-bookshelf-pair

Comes with original box and packaging. Pick up Collingwood.
