Festooned
These are exemplary units.. and as a plus you get fantastic sounding parametric EQ into the bargain - as well as transparent volume control that doesn't affect dynamics, one of the best loudness implementations in recent history, and all of it highly programmable. I can't recall better support in terms of firmware fixes either - not that it wasn't a very refined product going to market. They've even added 2.1 and 2.2 support which is great for hi-fidelity applications and desktop monitors alike. The forums are full of people who have tried these out and sold much more expensive dacs in favor of keeping them. At this price it's an absolute steal. The FS designation places it in RME's product line with the high precision steadyclock system, and jitter and overall measured IM and TH Distortion are at the very top tier of performance.
