keithstcs
My Denon AVR died - can't complain it has done good service. But I need another with pre-outs or a processor - Emotiva MC 700? Budget is very modest. Any suggestions?
myhifiacct
Which model did you have and what happened to it? I'm keen to hear what they are failing from these days.

Dogbert
That is a good run. My old Denon 2808 died after 3 years and Denon didn't make the spare board anymore so it couldn't get fixed. Luckily the local Denon rep gave me a good deal on a new 4311 which is still going strong. I later found out under that under Australian Consumer law the manufacturers are required to hold spare parts, hence the discount offered on a new replacement. Upgrade time for me soon as well..I was thinking the NAD T 758 v.3 or lower model Anthem..good luck with your search

Mr_Gadget
That's nothing, my Yamaha RX-795a is still working fine. I sold it to a work colleague over 7 years ago. I bought it maybe 18 years ago when it was a current model (it was my first AVR) Edited May 23, 2019 by Mr_Gadget
Gordon Macfarlane
I had a similar experience with my Yamaha RXV 1800. Turned out it was a 50c cap in the standby supply. Fixed it myself and gave it to a pal.Still going strong 5yrs later.

Gordon Macfarlane
Switch mode standby psu. I reckon a 2310 will have a linear stby psu which should be easier to fault find.
keithstcs
Thanks for the comments/questions. I have abandoned the Denon and bought a Yamaha RX -A880, which is a bit better for sound!
