New Epson 9400W arrived

Recommended Posts

Arrived Tuesday. Picture looks brighter than and with more pop than the 9300 already. I’ll send some more thoughts after I give it a bit of tweaking. 761c9031cbbcef6fbd0ff005e24c7dba.jpg4ef509d982760caa0609aa9f909a023e.jpg

Wow what a difference the 4K 60hz makes for games. Looks amazing. I’m not a majorly into gaming but it looks amazing on this projector. The HDR is light years ahead of the Last Epson 9300. Watched some of Blue Planet II 4K Blu-ray last night. Stunning picture! Colour accuracy is awesome! I have a dedicated room with minimal light pollution so it really shines. Very happy with this projector so far. The tiny details like wrinkles and stitching on clothes is something I never really took notice of on the last projector but the 9400 seems so detailed. ca000c933cd63a24c150cdf25d92fa62.jpg&key=1892b8ff3ed0ac5e77512b507af16563359b37e26de9b07b26bfb655d4d7ee4ed8752bafa33a070e93e553db606d9e3a.jpg&key=2b7c07c48d370cc0fb689c4d5013f9f70d7cfb53dd7ad4c49e621b7743187d6b

Calibrated the picture with Alaric’s setting (from AVS forum) as I’m yet to do my own. They are pretty good. I have Digital Video Essentials disc which I’ll give s whirl when I get some time. It’s amazing how different each disc can look.

Photos from a phone just don’t do it justice.

Does this calibration work with the 9300? Could you post a link please.

Congrats on the new projector, picture looks very sharp!

Congrats on the new projector, picture looks very sharp!

It's only a starting point and is not a proper calibration. The 9300 is different brightness among other things.

Yes, i understand that but a slight tweak would be better than factory would it not?

Not wanting to hijack this thread but I understand its not a one shoe fits all calibration but is there a generic 9300 calibration i could follow floating around?
