Will make myself a cable to hook up the CMA to the LS50 and see how it goes. I suspect minimal change, built in DAC probably goes alright compared to the CMA one. I found LS50W v1 a bit bright with the internal DAC, though with superb imaging/soundstage. V2 must be better still!
Bengineer
Never heard V1. Reviews saying V2 is a decent improvement. All I know is it sounds effortless to my ears. Like it should, ya know

On 1st listen, they almost sound the same but my ears pick up the softer shades of the wa22 while the v280 though very akin to the tube like tone of the wa22, sound a touch more lively, more energetic and tighter. I was going to give them a tie but I need to listen more over different songs. wa22 sporting just ordinary Sylvania 6sn7gtb chrome top, Tung Sol 5998 and Cossor 53ku. Both are better to my ears than the Questyle CMA Twelve amp. CMA 12 just sound brighter than the other 2 and not as smooth. If I didn't compare, I could have love CMA12 with Hekse. Making a sweeping statement like this is not being fair to CMA 12. The difference is actually very slight. CMA 12 does sound great with Hekse. Interesting! Agree V280 sounds quite lively and energetic. I always heard people saying V280 is warmer than Taurus, for me I always found that V280 has a tighter bass that probably goes a bit deeper. Taurus generally sounds warmer to me (probably due to more pronounced mids and slightly recessed treble).

However he did say that the v280 is warmer. He also say the LCD-4 with v280 is just amazing. So where is my LCD-4? Because of this, I became very interested in the v590 or the the Niimbus US 4. But let me enjoy the v280 first. It is really good with Hekse, especially after the xlr balance interconnect cables came today. What a difference between balance and se interconnect on the v280. The V280 manual sums it up perfectly. Hearing with loudspeaker is like sitting in the audience, hearing with headphones is like taking the place of the conductor. Hearing balanced means being part of the orchestra.
Odyssey
I sure miss my LF339. When I had the wa22 and LF339 side by side, LF339 sound more punchy and forceful to me. That excites me. That said wa22 is also very good. Using my LCD-X with all 3 amps now
Odyssey
@Bengineer can you do a cable like this? Using a headphone to speaker taps.

The Neutrik XLR can probably take 14-16 awg at a squeeze. Tight but do-able. Furutech probably same.
Odyssey
Anyone tried this Vincent headphone hybrid amp. I'm very circumspect about this manufacturer. They claim German engineering etc but all of their products are made in China except for their real high end stuff. The tube circuit topology of this amp looks very close to the Cayin HA1-MK2, a noisy but capable desktop. If you look at the casing and power location, it's very similar and looks poorly shielded which is the issue in the HA-1. Buyer beware IMO.

Odyssey
Except I got a cheap clone of the Benchmark HPA-4 I bought a SMSL SP200 cheap just to see what all the fuss this THX AAA 888 technology is about.

I think you will love it if your ears are like mine. That said just a day ago I was loving the v280 like there's no tomorrow. v280 is warm. SP200 is neutral bright. Startlingly clear but no sibilance to my ears. They are on the opposite side of the spectrum. I will need a bit of time to swim with all these amps over the weekend before I give my verdict and as to why I could love 2 very diverse tonal signature.
