LachlanB
Hi all, Hoping to get some advise on my stereo system. I currently have a Harman/Kardon HK6350R running some Wharfedale Valdus 400 speakers. While it sounds great, the amp isn't powerful enough to run the speakers properly. Any recommendations on how to fix this? Should I get a power amplifier to go with it, or just upgrade to a more powerful integrated amplifier? Thanks for any advice. Specs HK6350R Power output: 60 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo) Frequency response: 0.5Hz to 150kHz Damping factor: 65 Input sensitivity: 0.12mV (MC), 2.2mV (MM), 135mV (line) Signal to noise ratio: 76dB (MC), 80dB (MM), 98dB (line) Valdus 400 Power: 150 watts Impedance: 4-8 ohms Sensitivity: 92db
Gijo1977
Well, I have an SGR Power amp that would give you a pretty big boost in performance, but you would still be using the pre-outs on the HK (if it has them) so the sound is likely to keep some of its ‘flavor’...It then gives you a chance to play with various pre-amps or bi-amping as your upgradeitis kicks in :-)
