PauliD
Sorry if posted already, I didn't see it so thought I'd post. https://www.theverge.com/2019/5/1/18525492/netflix-high-quality-audio-bitrate-scaling-kbps-dolby-atmos-5-1 Going from 640 kbps to 768 kbps. The other tid bit was that audio quality was set at the beginning of the stream, not dynamically like the video. Thats now changed and will dynamically scale to give you the best bitrate based on your bandwidth. Sounds good right. But I'd like to know what shows have the new sound quality now to test it out. It would also be good to know if older videos will get the upgrade or only new content being added from now. Cheers Paul

Reading the article it should apply to all the videos as its the streaming engine and will dynamically change depending on your streaming speed.
Guest thathifiguy
Hope this won't have an effect on my audio quality. My speed is quite slow (5 mbps). TBH, I would rather a drop in visual quality over audio.

PauliD
anyone know how to check the audio streaming quality? My AVR shows the codec but not the bitrate I can use Netflix on the following. 1. Panasonic UB420 (preferred device) 2. Chromecast Ultra 3. LG Web OS tv 4. Xbox One 5. PS4 BTW I would have thought an update to these apps would be required to be able use new functionality? Anyone else able to see if the new quality is available in AUS?
PauliD
So it looks like if my/your AVR sees Dolby Digital + then your getting the 5.1 @ 640kbps. For Atmos you'll be getting 768kbps. https://www.cnet.com/news/netflix-high-quality-audio-makes-shows-and-films-sounds-better/?linkId=66807311 https://help.netflix.com/en/node/109477 Edited May 3, 2019 by PauliD added a link
