VTL MB 225 monoblocks

Recommended Posts

Orig USD4000 per pr I guess, had rave reviews....but not current model and...anything's only worth what someone will pay for it.

Not sure what 'separate power supply' means.

Some VTL enthusiasts love the smooth and supper [sic] sweet sound, the vendor is suggesting that they're so good that you could eat them.

One or two KT90s or EL34s per side should be plenty of power for most punters, unless you in love with some v insensitive spkrs.

Tells you a little about the owner, possibly.

Looks like interesting front + back horn-loaded spkrs with horn tweet - should go plenty loud with just 10 watts. No need for 200W amps anymore.

Really ?

My old Jadis DA60 ran 4x KT90s per side to produce a muscular 60wpc.

:)

A couple of EL34s is usually good for 25-35W.  KT90s/6550/KT88 should do 35-70W I believe.  All depending on bias cathode/fixed, class A/AB, how hard the toobs are run, etc.  If triode wired, then power output is halved.

Always better, IMHO to not to parallel output devices if you can help it. Toobs or transistors.

Don't have it anymore?

Come to think of it, I had spent a few sessions hearing a Sonic Frontiers SF-80 - 2 x KT90 per ch - way back when.
