Papa Hemi
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=301801531 I don't have the know how, nor the courage to do this vitage package justice. I wonder if anyone else has. Do you think the price unrealistic? I appreciate that the market will decide, but I feel this a fair starting point. Owen Y
Papa, Dare I say it... you should play these drivers (can't recall if you have already?). These Philips drivers often sound pretty good Temp just mount on a big baffle board maybe.
Papa Hemi
I have had a tutu with these drivers, but was unable to form any real opinion about them in the absence of the required output stage. I have some other Philips drivers of a slightly more modern vintage, AD4200m, and I really like them. Without an OTL amp however, or the know how to get this one going, it just becomes one project too far... The drivers do seem to be quite special however. They have the corrugated outer suspension as is so often seen on drivers of this vintage, but are so much stiffer (low compliance?) than other drivers. I guess it must have something to do with the Hi-Z architecture.
