My new HP rack I made today..

heh, love the rack and the layout. Love that Yoda is there too to make sure you have chosen the right HP for the day/night - "chosen wisely, you have".

 I think it’s Grogu not Yoda !

Very nice wall rack for the collection. I just got a pair of Kennerton/LSA H1 in the mail. They feel so sturdy and well built. Can’t wait to listen to them when I find an amp.

I know it isn't much, but check out my humble setup.

Whips out the world's most expensive portable Sony made of real gold and a set of Abyss.

Back to one dac, one amp and one headphone might be where I’m headed next year. 😃

That's going to be a bold and  difficult decision 🙂

Hopefully this will end my quest for better setup for some time :)

Just upgraded to Holo Audio Spring Lvl2.

Had to make a new shelf,  just to house this big boy, and no more fund to purchase new one.....

DAC - Holo Audio Spring Level 2 DAC

Head Amp - SPL Phonitor X without DAC

Headphone - Sennheiser HD800

Source - PC via USB or Pi4 with Allo DigiOne via Coaxial (RCA) (Still deciding between Moode Audio or Volumio)

I decided that there will be no dac, amp and headphone to make it an even bolder and difficult decision. 🙂

@Bengineer will this stand fit my Axis Voicebox S ?

Are you going to give the new set up a test run for a few weeks to see if you can live with it before selling off your gear? I.e. resist the urge to reach for your headphones and tube amps 🙂

I'm trying to keep the head-fi setup out of sight and out of mind but it's to the right of me and it's hard to resist. However at least this way I can have a clean desk policy which the department insist. The speakers stand now becomes headphone stands.

Yggdrasil now feeds the Redgum amp and my headfi amps. I was thinking of getting a pair of Yamaha NS1000 but how will that fit on the desk? 😄

I'll close off the year by making this the last purchase of 2020. Bought it off the classifieds and if the reindeers are doing their job, will get to me by 2021 and not 2022. 😂

I've not heard this headphone before neither have I own a HiFiMan before so I am naturally curious...

Yeah. Mine just arrived (Aperta 100) and fit the KEF LS50W ii.

The Aperta is good as it has screw adjust for tilt. Don't think the plastic pro version (IsoStand 155) do that.

Merry Christmas all. This is what I'm using this morning. My trusty HD800 with Forza Noir HPC Mk2 cable. Still mint since 2017. 🙂

Merry Christmas fellow mentally ill Audiophiles.

These and these arrived for me this week. And I managed to find time to make some Moon Black Dragon cables for myself and some friends.

Haha. I have that exact Eidolic connector on my desk. A certain someone changed his mind, so now it's spare! It's a start!

As a comparison with HD800... after several hours of LCD-X, I was ready to yank it off my head, as good and meaty as it sound. However immediately on switching to HD800, the skies open, it's more airy and details droplets flow downwards from the sky. It's a big noticeable change. 😄

I can't say one is better than the other. In fact I was ready to sell off the HD800 but it's been rescued again from this experience. I like the contrast from both headphones. Just wish the LCD-X is as light as the HD800. Now the HE1000se is coming in a week's time. It will be interesting then.

How does the HE1000SE fit in with your minimalism/ clean desk approach for the coming year? 😁

It will be the only headphone on the desk besides the LCD-4. All others will be sold or given to Salvation Army. That's the plan. Just HE1000SE and LCD-4.

Many yeas ago, I had the HD800 and LCD-3f and it was very good contrast. Similarly I believe HE1000SE and LCD-4 will be very good contrast and will be all I need .... except maybe another Utopia lol.

Speaking of filled desk space; I've preordered  a Denafrips Hermes DDC to add to my playback chain. I'm quite excited about this. The 4-6 weeks lead time should go by quite quickly once back to work after the Christmas break.

Beautiful Niktech. If ever I get a chance to visit Perth, I'll call on you. Haven't been to Perth . 🙂

Likewise come and visit me in Sydney or Canberra lol.

Waiting for the DIY T2 which is better than HEV90.

Plus the HEV90 can't properly power the HE60 in the first photo.

500V Bias voltage for the HE90, the HE60 uses 560V.

Hugo the OP has one DIY T2 with his HE90. He sold his Aristaeus (HEV90 Clone with better PSU) once he compared the HE90 with his new DIY T2. I've msg him about the reason, he said the Atristaeus lack power and control compared to the DIY T2. Bass goes deeper, soundstage wider, higher detail/resolution, also confirm by Stax Mafia.

Plus I have the Stax SR-Ω which was design to be driven by SRM-T2. I don't have space or finance to get both. The HEV90 can only power the HE90, the DIY T2 can power everything. Makes more sense to get that instead.
