Zulu (blu-ray)

Recommended Posts

Finally bit the bullet and got a copy of Zulu in from Amazon UK.

Stunning is all I can say. A brilliant movie gets a stunning blu transfer. The stero audio is very good for a 44 year old movie, but the imagery is incredible. The detail and colour is just flawless. Easily hits some of my more modern AAA titles.

Love it, glad I talked myself into the purchase :). Definitely my fav movie purchase of 2009 so far.

The audio is only DD 2ch 48khz (448kpbs). Not great, but definitely good enough. It's the video when this film excels, 32Mbps AVC, just awesome for such an old film.

Fantastic! Image quality was great! And Audio seemed really good too! Not sure if its my imagination but it did seem like 1-2 scenes were slightly different from DVD version (but that may just have been the image quality playing tricks rather than remastering adding additional footage?). There were several scenes where you really felt like you were right there standing just outside the mission station looking at it...

Now if only they hadn’t bastardised the historical facts when they made it – it would’ve been just as fantastic a movie without doing a Hollywood style rewrite of history…

P.S. It actually arrived about a day after your post Craig - but as it was with Band of Brothers & both Ice-Age movies it had to wait 2 or so weeks before it's turn to be watched!

:)
