I'm not sure I understand this, from the auction details 'the customer has spent $6K on the amp, but has no amp'

I presume that the auction is 'on behalf', and I cannot see why 'the customer' doesn't simply get the amp fixed by the tech who did the original repair (if they stuffed it up then they should be obliged to put it right).

Either that, or why didn't 'the customer' go down the path of finding another tech to do the repairs and at the end of the day have an amp to show for the $6K+repair investment, rather than lose $6K-auction return and have no amp?

Am I missing something here? Am I having a dumb day?

The modder's mantra...

If it ain't broke, fix it until it is...

In stock form these were great little amps.

Aaron, I think it's poor grammar that is confusing you. "This customer" means the Feedback's customer who originally bought the amp from Feedback and then had it modded with disastrous results. I guess the moral is - choose your tech carefully or seek endorsements of their skill level. I guess the customer was unlikely to ask Feedback for advice on a suitable tech. It is a bit odd that the customer has now "dumped" it on Feedback to sell for him. Too embarrassed or angry to list it himself, maybe

I had a PX modded UNICO SE and it was a beautiful thing indeed . Sold now to a very happy buyer ! If I had this item I would ship it to PX in Canada. They know the kit inside out. It would come back perfect I am sure. Maybe ... I should do that :) Hmm

Back away, it's mine!..., Tks for the heads up Maxgate.

I imagine the bidding will get fierce at closing time though.

Good idea. However transit cost would probably be $1000 round trip.

Any recommendations for NZ-based tech who could fix?

Heck if bidding goes the way of Ed's Nitty Gritty then it could be expensive!
