dpauly
Hi Everyone, my name is David Pauly, I have relocated to Oz from the States. I practiced law in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they filmed "Breaking Bad" in front of my office. I have an overly powerful stereo system, that was custom built for me. The power supply for the Amplifier has a 1KVA Transformer per channel, with 440,000 uf of Capacitance. Yes, it is ridiculous. I have a Nordost Valhalla Loom, except for my one set of RCA interconnects, which are Nordost Odin. I am not touting, I am just giving you a reference point for the system in which I have invested so much time and money. Recently, I discovered Isotek's products, and they can make a very large difference in my system. Just buying their cheapest power board made as much difference as upgrading my RCA from Valhalla to Odin. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi. Best, David Pauly

turbo88888
welcome to Australia where everything is overpriced especially audio gear. Now that you are in Canberra, you may be able to do a bit of lobbying .. Good luck to your stay ..not knowing how long you are going to be in Oz..
dpauly
HI Everyone, Canberra is our permanent home, leaving New Mexico was one of the best decisions I have made. Thanks for making me feel at home. Yes, audio gear is ridiculously over-priced, but I will trade expensive gear for rampant gunfire any day. If you want to experience what it was like to live there, you can check out my comedy/Memoir, "Expensive Janitor" on Amazon as an Ebook or a paperback. You will laugh yourself silly. eman
Well you've swapped people thinking you live in 'Mexico ' for the rest of the country hating you because the rest of the country equates 'Canberra ' with 'Politicians ', regardless of the reality. I grew up there and have been abused around the world for it by other Aussies. I avoided Albuquerque when I was in the US . For an Aussie the sign at the Saguaro giant cactus park "Do not shoot the cactus "brought it home to me. "They *are* driving around with guns"

dpauly
Hi Eman, yes, everyone drives around heavily armed in New Mexico. They filmed Breaking Bad in front of my office. My office manager wore her .45 automatic around the office, as I was a criminal solicitor. Much safer in Canberra, nothing happens here, good or bad. I did have to sell my gun before moving here, apparently having an un registered automatic handgun is frowned upon here. (lol) If you would like a good view of what life was like there, here is a link to my book on Amazon, that is a comedy/memoir--https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07JY657S1/ On a stereo note, I got to demo the new Syncro Uni from Isotek last weekend, and it was very interesting. Its a DC offset device, so I tried it first by putting it between my step-down transformer and the isotek powerstrip, with little effect. Each other component was unimpressed, probably due to the ridiculous amount of powersupply storage and filtering in my custom Amp and Pre-Amp/DAC. Where it made a huge difference, however, was when it was placed between the powerstrip and the CD player. The CD player has very little power storage, and smaller filter caps, so it was an amazing experience. as soon as I can afford one, I will pick one up. t_mike
I was in Albuquerque in '14 when I did a Rt. 66 trip. Went up Sandia Peak on the cable car, sunny when we left, snowing on arrival 15 minutes later. I did see a guy wearing a revolver in a McDonald's in Amarillo, so must just be a high country thing. Coincidentally, this is on the shirt I'm wearing now. Great milkshakes.
