Free Music Software for Windows

Recommended Posts

I knew foobar back in the day and have an old Jriver licence for version 20.

I wanted to be able to natively play dsd through either USB output or hdmi output.

Would be nice if there was an iPhone remote.

Any software there that can do this apart from Roon.

Whilst I am no expert on dsd,  I believe you could look at 'Musicbee'.

I'm pretty sure there is no remote for iphone however.

For further I suggest you go to Musicbee forums https://getmusicbee.com/forum/

Where are the files that you want to play? On a Windows platform or Mac or something else? Regardless, Audirvana+ works on both platforms, I am a Mac user myself though and I play plenty of DSD files using Audirvana+. What it means to play natively can be a discussion.

Foobar has an Android app for a phone called "Foobar Controller".

you can use your existing jriver as windows player, just switch on DLNA function in Jriver setting and then you can control it with whichever app on your iPhone supporting DLNA/UPNP protocol, Sesam, bubbleupnp and many others, of course your PC and iPhone needs to be connected to the same LAN/WLAN network

for more info about jriver setting go to jriver wiki site (google will help) if still no go I can post picture of the setting once I'm back home

Jriver can play pretty much any audio format including DSD, important is that your DAC is capable of receiving DSD either in DoP or native
