The Grey Series V2 Cable was tested on several systems within HiFi Shops, Audio Clubs, Audio Manufacturers and Audio enthusiasts.

Systems/ Equipment we tested against were single source and amps within a price range between $500-$3,500 and complete systems of up to $10,000. We tested our cable against several cables ranging from the standard manufacturers supplied power cable to leading popular manufacturers (RRP $129-$650) cable.

When tested against standard manufacturer supplied power cable, we had a notable difference with improved sound quality 100% of the time.

When tested against power cables RRP $129-$400 price range we had a notable difference to slightly notable better sound quality with our cable being the preferred cable 100%.

When tested against a series of cable in the RRP $400-$650 price range we were the preferred cable-  our cable was either slightly better sounding or on par but a $550 difference in price.

Notable difference feedback received  ranged from lifting the mid-range woofer to notable difference in the back ground sound. It is important to note depending on the equipment/ systems used there will always be different results.

@EGM Audio

If I may ask. During these tests, were the people informed of the cable changes?

Thanks.

Can you tell us more about the Blue Series cable?

EGM Audio Blue Series V2 Power Cables is currently our most premium cable. (Grey Series is our entry level and our Red Series is Mid-Tier).

It is a heavier gauge cable (12 AWG). During our testing we proved that the cable is suited best on Audio equipment that draws high current e.g. Power Amp & Mono Blocks to get optimal performance.

The Grey Series V2 Power Cable was not blind tested as it over preformed and exceeded expectations over the other power cable. It was designed for a price point of what we believe an entry level power cable should be and what is extremely affordable to all audiophiles.

OK. My question was made in good faith with no hidden intent. Honestly.

I am not, in any way, deriding your product and I have never sought to do so. My question was/is, on what basis was the cable tested and were people made aware at the testing that cables were named as they were changed?

Thank you😀

End of story, thanks.

More questions should be directed to the Sponsor, by PM, where I'm sure they'll be happy to discuss with you.

Would you do these in custom lengths? When I get set back up somewhat properly later this year (hopefully this year anyway) I was planning to build a handful of leads ranging from 50cm to 1.5m, as I don't want a pile of excess lead hanging around behind the gear.

They have 0.5m, 1m, 1.5m.

I actually spotted that after I posted and I went looking. Probably want a bit more custom when I'm ready, but will see. Can always make my own if I have to, but for under $100 a lead its easier just to buy them lol

Which cable would you recommend for a network streamer and DAC? I'm assuming the blue series is best for pre/power amp?

We would recommend our Red Series V2 Power Cable for DAC/ Streamers.

Pre/Power we would recommend our Blue Series V2. (Note: Being a heavier gauge cable we recommend purchasing the next size/length (0.5 metre) to accommodate for bends ect.)

G'day all. About 6 months ago, Mike Lenehan [the speaker and  speaker cable magician] introduced me to the world of HiFi power cables via EGM Audio. He lent me some red series cables to try on my system. I went home and with skepticism plugged them in from my Nordost QB4 to my Prima Luma HP valve amp. I noticed a difference straight away. More definition and clarity, and this power cables was brand new out of the packet, not run in at all. I have since thrown all my cheap little power cables [ that always come with pricey components] away and replaced them all with EGM red series power cables. A huge improvement for such a small financial outlay. To me, It,s a no brainer.

That was until last week, when I called in on Mike again. He showed me the brand new brown cable made by EGM audio. He asked me to take the sample cable home, give it a go and tell him what I thought. Well, after playing Earl Klugh, Janis Ian and Dire Straits, I phoned Mike up and to quote Darren 69, I said," Mike Lenehan, you're a bastard". Just when I thought that my system was about as good as it could get. Yes, the red series cables are fantastic, but the new brown ones [that I believe will be introduced at the HiFi show in Melbourne in October] are at another level again. Much more detail and clarity. If you're going to the Melbourne HiFi show, check these beauties out as well as Mike Lenehan's ML2 speakers and foilflex cables. You won't be sorry.

BTW, my system consists of Rega P8 tt with the Aphita 2 mc cart, Rega aria phono stage, Prima Luma Dialogue Premium HP amp, with the Lenehan caps and resister upgrade, Rell T9 sub, Lenehan ML2 ref speakers and stands, Nordost power filter/powerboard, foilflex speaker cables and interconnects, EGM power cables and Quadraspire Evo4 HiFi rack.

Do I love my system? Bloody oath I do. Cheers Warwick.

PS. Sorry for the long winded rant!!!!

May I ask what power cable you were using prior to this and ,in general, how would you describe the characteristics of the improvement in sound?

Thanks.

@Warwick Robson did you find that some components benefited more or were the improvements somewhat equal across all pieces?

Every component influences the overall sound quality of ones system and speaker cables, interconnects and power cables are looked upon as being important components. They say that a chain is only as strong/good as its weakest link and I'm now convinced that the same applies to hifi systems. When you consider the amount of money that we spend on hardware components for our systems, to have them arrive with the cheapest, nastiest, Chinese power cable that Australian authorities will allow, it all makes sense. A good power cable, IMHO, will have a positive impact on any component that is plugged into it. Good clean, consistent power, its a no brainer.

Oh, and by the way, NO, I don't have shares in the company, or am related to the manufacturer. I've never even met the guy, but am I a convert? Oh yeah. Cheers Warwick.

Oh, I almost forgot, before I started down the power cable journey, I was using the cheap cables that came with my components [like most people do] and I thought it sounded great. Now I know how wrong I was.

Just had a grey EGM cable delivered today. Connected it with my Aspen preamp.

Bass, voices and instruments improved noticeably. Soundstage seems narrower though. Still early stage so hopefully things will improve once it's breaking in.

Hi mate

There is a forum Power, Cables & Electronics

Might be better starting up a question there

This  is actually the spot commercial members can advertise and post topics

I bought a EGM red and black cable, did extensive testing on all my components, one at a time, and found improvements with both cables, over Wywires blue cables, the red cable is very good and great value for money, but the black is just that little bit better, so I know have black on my pre, phono, power amps and DAC.

I have just added 3 EGM Audio Black Power Cords to my system. Too early to say anything until time goes by. The build quality of these cables is really excellent and they are very good value for money. I bought a 1 metre version as well as 2 others 1.5 metres in length. The connectors are very well made and they "fit" very well; no looseness at all. I'll let you know how things unfold.

Cheers

Im selling this power cable only since upgrading up the line to the Sarum T.
I absolutely loved the sound of this cable and what is did to my system. It has beaten both my Isotek Evo3 Elite easily on soundstage size, bass authority & definition. Also it has surprisingly beaten my analysis plus power oval 2 on vocal clarity and bass slam. Great cable for a source component, I’m very surprised there is not more positive praise of these cables anywhere on the net! Fantastic product.
It was purchased new only a few months ago and is in brand new condition. I never thought I would part with it to be honest, only due to upgrading.
