atsq Posted February 27, 2019 Share Posted February 27, 2019 I find that centre speakers need to fit into weird spaces in front of a screen or a stand or in front/inside a cabinet space, etc. It's my understanding that vented/ported speakers react more with their surroundings (especially behind) than sealed ones do. Sealed enclosures are also meant to sacrifice a bit of low end range for increased speed and accuracy. So with those assumptions I prefer sealed especially for center channel. Yes as @atsq mentioned center speakers do need to be installed in weird spaces/places hence its hard for center speakers to achieve the required vocal /movie effects depth. Thanks to the monitor audio gold series center it can do all the above and more. I havent found such a musical and natural sounding center channel yet!!
