Surface noise after tonearm wire replaced

Recommended Posts

Yeah needed realignment and the azimuth was way out.
Looks like the the arm is on a bit to much of an angle as well.
Not to confident on playing around with that tho.

Are you saying its not square with the platter? If thats the case, I would be taking it back and complaining. Shame, as its a good and reasonably expensive turntable.

Also, advise Convoy of your problems.

Why not just contact the repairer and see if they can trouble shoot the problems.

Got the azimuth realigned best i could and cartridge set up better now and has fixed the problem.
Have only done the azimuth by eye and has made a huge difference it was so far out. the stereo field is big now.i dont think the table has sounded this good since i got it. It was a refurbished table so had been set up for a different cartridge i guess.
Might go deeper on azimuth and order the test vinyl and multimeters.
Thanks for your help

Where are you ("Teven"???)?

You need one particular Test LP ... plus a Fozgometer.

If you're in Melbourne, I can bring it over and set your azimuth.  That is - presuming your arm allows you enough variation, to change it?

Yeah i have looked at the fozgometer, i will get that one day i think.
i have a multimeter and have ordered the test vinyl. So i might have a go at that first see if i can get it right.
Yeah live in teven that would have been awesome to get you to come around with that andy and a big thanks for the offer as well.
It has the project 9cc arm on the music hall so seems as tho the adjust should be do able.

I found this on the net seems pretty straight forward i think i can get this to work.
