It is not well known but Australia has been a major pioneer of the motion picture. Who is credited with the first ever full reel feature film The Story Of the Kelly Gang made in 1906? Us.  Believe it or not there is still remaining footage of this slice of movie history. https://youtu.be/vf0YNb8n9NM Six years earlier the Salvations Army's production of Soldiers of the Cross is reputed to be the world's first multi media feature film. Sadly no film footage of this pioneering masterpiece remains.

This is a WAY better list IMO. What rock is anyone under to not list Shine or Picnic at Hanging Rock......

Interesting omission being Crocodile Dundee (not you @cultfilman ) the 25 list.....it'd be on mine....(flame suit on, possibly the squeal too)

Moulin Rouge! does anyone actually like that film? serious question, I've not met anyone who does. Or rather, would want to watch it again.

What about "The Jammed"?

@janjuc Quite a few of those are also on my top 50. Forty Thousand Horsemen was filmed in the  same sandhills where the infamous Wanda Beach murders took place.  Just a bit of trivia. Jedda is another good old timer.  Have you seen Fever?
