‘Schizophrenia’
(NovaMute, 1995)

A short-lived project from Thomas Fehlmann and Moritz von Oswald, Schizophrenia turned up on a 12” given away with Tresor comp Tresor 3 and as such is barely referenced any more. Fehlmann’s importance can’t be sniffed at though, and ‘Schizophrenia’ is a rare moment where he allows himself to go headfirst into shimmering, trance-inducing long-form dub techno. Gorgeous. >

Great album. Saw them play at the Rosemount in 2015.

It sure is. I only came across this album a couple of months ago - I haven't been keeping up with electronic music over the last few years. I'm slowly making my way through this thread to see what else is out there.

Global Communication - 76:14

Finally got hold of a copy of the 2020 reissue of this classic album.

Apparently GC has nothing to do with this reissue and an official reissue was rumoured to be released in 2020. Alas that was what I read 6 months ago and so far it seems there’s only a 7xLP box set release listed on Bleeps that’s due in August. Too expensive at USD $90!

On closer look, MoV has used the 2005 stamper of Jonz Loud cut for this reissue, the SQ is brilliant and an absolutely perfect pressing without even a light tick to be heard! The gatefold cover is also of phenomenal finish.  Although a digital remaster, it sounded full and 3 dimensional. Very happy indeed...

I’ll get a copy if a cheaper official reissue ever happen but for now, this MoV reissue rocks...

Noice. I got the CD back in the day, and still give it a listen quite regularly.

I see that Pentamerous Metamorphosis is also available on the vinyls. A worthy companion to 76:14. It was originally a limited edition CD that commanded high prices, and after trying for ages to score a copy I decided one day to email the record company (Dedicated) and asked if they had any available, and they sent me a CD for nowt ? Always worth trying yer luck.

Lubberly track -- I have it on a CD called Excursions In Ambience Vol.2 - The Second Orbit. It also features Material (remixed by The Orb), and one of my favourite tracks: Locust - No One In The World:

(obviously I'm a sucker for filtered gated chords and Karen Carpenter samples)

Retro 97 Mix -- a 3 hour mix chockers with 90s electronic artists. Takes about 20 minutes to kick into first gear when The Irresistible Force makes an appearance, but after that it's Autechre, Higher Intelligence Agency,  Speedy J, Sun Electric, Bola, FSOL, Reload, Sabres Of Paradise, Plaid, Boards Of Canada, Wagon Christ, etc. So many memories. Free MP3 download from Headphone Commute.

Pitch Black - Futureproof

From Amazon...

Finally Pitch Blacks debut album gets the American release it so deserves. Previously only available as an expensive import, it will now be available in all its dubadelic glory. From their remix of Salmonella Dubs They Are Among Us, to live favourite The Gatherer, Futureproof set the standard for electronica in New Zealand for the next decade, and started Pitch Black on their path to worldwide dubination. Best of all, this reissue comes with a bonus CD of remixes, including International Observers dubwise take on Speech and Youths lysergic version of Melt. One for all good music lovers everywhere
