Audioobsesed
Hi, Ive had my AR turntable for about 30 years. It has afew mods including a RB300 arm , now the motor is worn and noisey some times. There appears to be 2 options, the merrill upgrade or origenlive . Has anyone had any expierience with either of these. Any advise would be appreciated. wartman
Try giving the motor two drops of sewing machine oil. It worked on mine.
Audioobsesed
Thanks wartman but i did that about 6 months ago. It helped for a while but now I can rock the shaft about 2 mm. I guess they dont last forever.

Can't you buy a replacement motor from AR - which you can use with your existing motor speed controller - rather than the Origin Live & Merrill replacements? If not then there's another option - Steve Tuckett's ( @Number 9) motor speed controller with a new motor - it works with several motors. Audioobsesed
Hi andyr, unfortunatly AR dont make replacement motors anymore. Thanks for your suggestion of the Steve Tuckett controller, Im going to research it s.a.p.
