Looks interesting...

Almost leaves scope for a Project sign prequel :) The Orville is back soon reminds me :thumb:

Quote

Vandenberg, as Director of Central Intelligence in 1946, had overseen investigations into the so-called Ghost rockets in Europe and wrote intelligence memos about the phenomena. Later as Air Force Chief of Staff, both Vandenberg and Twining oversaw early U.S. Air Force UFO investigations, like Project Sign and Project Blue Book and made some public statements on UFOs.

Watched the first episode. Not great to be honest, but will persevere through another couple.

Almost like a documentary feel to it with identifiable figures of the time turning up [ without explicit spoilers]

Robert Zemeckis does a hatchet job on the US airforce  ; a nice theme :) Has x-file overtones ..

Documentary feel ?

Damn, this is going to feed the crazy folk out there

I recall hearing some talk about the Blair Witch Project after it came out, and some were saying "watch it! this s%^$ is real!" "it happened!"

Edit: though It's likely not going to covert a reasonable person, just reinforce things for those that want to believe.

I didn't get this vibe at all from the first episode. If anything it was rather formulaic and apart from the sci-fi/urban legends content of the show itself, it just doesn't seem to fit into the stuff that I would expect to see on SBS.

See what you mean. To clarify I was referring to the next few episodes as you mentioned persevering ;) Don't expect x files[ standalone episode] calibre as you say .. Maybe it was just an extra that happened to come with a package of other doco's . Notice SBS are running Hunting Hitler at the moment ; now that is a fascinating series using ex CIA sources and armed services personnel ;  with Gerrard Williams[ journalist]  . A working knowledge of Berlin 1945 just heightens appreciation :thumb:

Well, just watched the first two ep's and while I think Scully has lost her good looks  I'm liking it for a few reasons.

I'm a fan of Aiden Gillen and he doesn't let me down with his portrayal of the professor, I also like the period setting, and while being a fan of real science I'm also a science fiction fan too (never the twain shall meet)

I'll keep watching this show as it entertains me, and more than most stuff aired these days whether FTA or subscription.

The two ep's tonight were very entertaining, of course mostly predictable, but what isn't these days.

I'll keep watching.

You can see why Hynek became a believer after starting out a debunker[ in real life] . Even with the " artistic intent" shown swamp gas goes only so far :)

Still impressed with Aiden, plays him really well.
