Doug06 Posted December 27, 2018 Share Posted December 27, 2018 I have a Plinius 2b preamp with 7b power amp that I am hoping to get going again to run my turntable though the MM stage. The preamp or the power supply (from the power amp) going to it developed a problem several years ago were it would cause the speaker drivers to move over a long extension in and out at a relatively slow speed (can't remember if it was accompanied with sound). I say the preamp seemed to be the problem because since then the power amp part of the combo has been fine powering a couple of sub speakers from a different amps sub output. Any ideas of what might cause this problem with the preamp and if it is likely to be cost effective to get fixed? Any Adelaide people know of a good tech they would trust to look at it? I have a similar pair (Plinius 2B and 7), and remember once seeing the woofers moving in and out an alarming amount, really slowly. I thought it must the the same speed as the TT rotation.
