Extra Info: Purchased new from MaxMedia in Melbourne as the newer CD77.1 not the older CD77, but recently upgraded by MaxMedia with the latest Quad Core DAC board and other parts direct from AMR themselves (NO 3rd party parts or hacks). This is the latest incarnation of AMR DAC Board and offers a significant improvement to their original flagship product. Exact words from AMR, "just because we don't sell the CD77.1 anymore, doesn't mean work has halted on improving sound quality for existing customers".

This player uses the original TDA1541A DAC Chip and is equiped with DAC inputs and multiple outputs on the back.

Transport is the Philips CDPro 2 along with 6 tubes

Absolutely sounds superior to the AMR DP777SE, which is something I also owned about a year ago and has has a slightly wider soundstage, deeper and with more weight on the instruments that count. Very analogue indeed

Review

Please note this player is extremely heavy and weighs in at 30kg (just the unit itself) and comes packed in a 15kg all aluminium flight case. For a total weight of just under 50kg.

This AMR CD77.1 should last a lifetime. Merry Christmas and enjoy...

I used to have one of these and for whats its worth I paid ALOT more than the asking price here.  Workmanship was stunningly good and a joy to use.  This unit looks to be in superb condition.  They wont play SACD but to be quite honest I dont notice any difference to my current machine that does! A totally different machine to the DP777SE as described

All the best with your sale.
