GWB Posted December 14, 2018 Share Posted December 14, 2018 How I have always wanted one of these, and recently acquired the whole set at a local auction - CD, pre-amp and power amp. When you get to a certain age and you remember these iconic pieces that you couldn't afford as a student, it seems that now is the time! Well, that was last week. Now I find that the laser is probably damaged on the CD player and when I rang Quad in Cambridge UK I was told: " Philips used to make the lasers for both the CD 66 and 67 but they don't make them anymore". I am appealing through a range of channels in the world of vintage hi-fi that someone may be able to identify a source because the front end sound from this player is way better than my Arcam set-up.
