Learning about hifi

Hi 

Can someone recommend a good book(s) on understanding how HiFi components work from a technical perspective?

An idiots guide so to speak that helps with amplifier circuits valve and solid state, how they work, how to repair them and same with preamps, speakers etc.

I have successfully bought lots of "botanical" books via abebooks.  Choose a reputable seller and all will be OK.

 

[Edit: I have no idea whatsoever about electronics so no idea whether these books are useful or not.  Just ones for sale that you mentioned.]

Personally I don’t know of such a book it’s an idea though. I have seen many article type writings on the Internet. The only trouble with books is that it’s usually out of date before it’s printed.

I’m sure StereoNET would have forums, plus other sites bursting at the seams with what you want to find. As they say Google it.

ive gone with Aechmea’s  first two on Amazon Lucy  too asThe Art of  was last copy available!

* had to go with soft cover SE Asia release of that the hard cover was a whopping $194  USD !!!!

(So yanks now see us as sth East Asians ) I though I was an Aussie but im a  Sessie! I can see my ANZAC forefathers spinning in their graves

If you want to learn, start doing!

Start with one of Rod Elliot's creations. Make mistakes and trouble shoot. You will learn quickly.

Unless you have a super brain, you will not learn just by reading.

To many theorists on this planet already.
