An old gag but the truth is, there were only records and cassettes when I was a teen and only records when I bought my first 45. To this day, it is my preferred medium. I love everything about it. The size, the weight, the artwork, the sound, the turntables...god I love the turntables! I buy a CD now and it’s such a minor thing but when I buy a new record, it’s an occasion, a celebration almost. As I type this I’m listening to some crushing doom metal and the wall of sound, the bass, the record cover: they all come into play and it is magnificent. Hail records. Gale GS401A's, Gale GT2101 sporting an SME 3009 SII and Shure V15 Mk3, Lecson AC1 pre, and Lecson AP3 power. Unfortunately the Lecson AP3 power amp expired under load and has since been replaced with ME550 HiCap fed by MF XP-100. Occasionally I throw the Lecson AC1 preamp back in place of the XP-100 just for fun. But I prefer an Ortofon M15E Super over the Shure V15 Mk3, and the AC1 phono stage doesn't work as nicely with the Ortofon compared to the phono stage in the XP-100. 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
