Hi all, lots of talk about baffle design, off axis response etc etc. Anyone have any experience in day a 3+ way design in a baffle wall?

Yes, in so far as I've tried a very big baffle to approximate it.    Has merits.

What does it make easier?

FWIW, I had good success with  600 x 600 with my current 2 ways - faces with 50mm of insulation

The is no diffraction from the speaker enclosure ?

Does that make crossover work any easier?

I've not tried it, but have a look at William Cowan's lounge room with "built in" speakers.

They're based on Danley's Unity/Synergy - the same concept as PSE144s

I tried building my pse144 horn into a corner just like WC, but I just build a big 1m wide floor to ceiling “speaker grille” and stood it in front. I also suspended the horn from wires from the ceiling. It was nice once the speaker could be seen, as it didn’t matter how ugly my schemes were. :)

I could only do this for the L speaker .... and I like tinkering too much with them, so it got taken down.

A modular design with each driver/driver group in its own rounded over enclosure would be handy. Modular to allow easy reconfiguration and experimentation which is going to be essential. Rounded for diffraction minimisation, anti-resonance and as building with fibre concrete easy eg

So it’s:
15” x 4
8” x 4
6” x 4
4” x 4
Tweeter x 4

Once I have the drivers to hand I can finish box design and prepare the mold with the driver cutouts pre moulded.

Wow!  Huge boxes (with that many drivers)!  :o
