Calling NAD enthusiasts

How would you rank the following set ups / Amps:

2200+1155 Vs. C370 Vs. 3120 Vs. C320BEE Vs. C352CT

To be paired with bookshelf B&W (For now) but looking ahead we all know that the speakers might change (For the worse, from the bank account perspective)

Also, the C370 was diabolically unreliable. C372 wasnt much better.

Can recommend the C375BEE, but I think it is no loner made....not sure. Believe it or not, I've used the C375 to drive a pair of Quad 57s and it worked a treat.

I have a 3120 &  320BEE & the later amp is significantly better.  Also have a pair of 2100 which I was using in bridged mode with a Perreaux SM3 pre amp & they embarrassed some much more expensive models.

I've had quite a few NAD and rate the 1155/2200 at the top followed by the 3140. I found the newer stuff inferior in build and sound. Also the modern amps seem to be hit and miss for reliability

Keep in mind if you buy vintage more than likely it will need some maintenance work, resoldering etc.

The output relays are a weak point and need replacing or reflowing solder joints

Before and after some TLC same units, this is the one thing that lets NAD down the faceplates/cases are so easily scratched today I attacked these small scratches with an HB pencil, turned out alright thought I'd share this it may help some of you.

I'm still running  a NAD 1700 preamp/tuner and 2x 2200 power amps in bridge mode.

They have lots of power to drive the hungry B&W 801s, still sound pretty good to me.

The only thing I ever replaced was the on/off switch on the power amps.

After 30 years its time to go a bit more upmarket ,and will be looking at replacing the preamp first.

Think I've had about 4 of these. Mostly fine units.

Some early production problems with main caps apparently. Mine were fine if they had got some use. Only one I had trouble with was NIB. Seems the problem showed up quickly if there was any.

Have resold most of them and the new owners were very happy with them.

I'm in the market for a new amp and I've always had a soft spot for NAD

Does anyone have any opinions on the C 316BEE ?

Well I know how to kill a conversation... ;)

I went and got one yesterday. It'll need a run in before I can give any critical response, but it's a fine looking unit.
