Item: Koetsu-Rosewood standard MC Cartridge
Reason for selling:NLR
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Or Post at Buyer expense and risk
Extra Info: I bought this cartridge from SNA member @kwtools,since has been played for less than 50 hours and still preferred my Shelter Harmony, hence the sell.
Okay, I admit I don't know much about hifi, but why would an enthusiast have multiple phono cartridges?
Attached photo shows some of the cartridges in my late brother's collection. I previously thought these were a consumable, but given that some originally cost several thousand dollars I am now not sure of anything.
Are used cartridges sale-able?
Would appreciate any feedback.
Item: Rare Vintage Fidelity Research FRT-4 SUT
Location: Virginia (Inner North Brisbane)
Item Condition: VGC, considering its age.
Reason for selling: No longer required. I need to free up some funds following a phono stage upgrade. These don't come up to often anymore.
Payment Method: Cash, Paypal (+3%) or Bank Deposit (deposit would need to clear before taking the goods)
Extra Info: The best sounding SUT I’ve used to date with a large and open and relaxed sound stage. Better depth than my Cinemag Blue 1254 SUT. Deserves better than being used in my secondary system. The most hum resistance SUT I’ve ever used and the input selector is fantastic if you’ve either multiple tables or multiple arms. 4 different gain settings and an MM bypass make this the most flexible SUT I’ve used to date also. A very sought after step up.
Very happy to demo (over a weekend) before purchase.
Pickup Only, no post or couriers.
Item: Ariston RD110 SL turntable + Fidelity Research FR -24 Mk2 tonearm + Pickering XSV3000 cartridge with new LPGEAR Vividline stylus + Kashmir corkstone mat
Location: Virginia (North Brisbane)
Item Condition: Vintage used. Some wear but stunning for its age. Sounds amazing.
Reason for selling: Have placed an order for a much more expensive table, and my wife only allows me to keep two tables. I'm kind of torn seeing as this is such a fantastic sounding table. I'm listening to it now as I type and find myself wondering why I decided to "upgrade" although I'm sure I'll love the new table when it arrives. Pictured on the table is Supex SD900 Rosewood mounted on a Supex Rosewood headshell. I'm hanging on to these and providing a Pickering XSV3000 with new LPGEAR Vividline stylus and headshell instead.
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, preferably with an audition to ensure you're happy with everything.
Extra Info: I bought the table used about 12 months ago. Geoff Maloney at Aurealis Audio went over it and fine tuned everything and installed the tonearm.
It has new black Linn springs and a spare armboard. The acrylic cover is in fantastic condition despite its age though doesn't quite fit any more due to the length of the tonearm counterweight. I also have the hinges and a spare belt packed away somewhere though I need to locate as I've recently moved house. The original platter mat has been replaced with a beautiful Kashmir corkstone mat. The original mat sapped dynamics and the corkstone is far superior in this respect. I don't currently have the antiskate set up for the FR-24 Mk2 tonearm as I've found it doesn't seem to affect performance at all one way or another. The original tonearm lifter had an issue as so often seems the case with the FR-24 arms. The weak point of these arms. I enlarged the hole and fitted a new lifter made in Italy by Audiosilente Steel which operates flawlessly. Pictures:
