SOLD: FS: Onkyo TX-NR818 AVR

Recommended Posts

Item: Onkyo TX-NR818
Location: Melbourne (3032)
Price: $550
Item Condition: 8/10. In the interest of full disclosure there is a small 3cm and 2cm scratch on the side panel which is not seeable when in rack/ent unit. Also some minor scratches on rear panel due to trying to connect things from the front ‘flying blind’. The scratches are
the reason I dropped the price by $50 from what I think it’s worth. HDMI board was replaced under unit recall due to systemic issues; never had an issue.
Reason for selling: No longer required.
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only
Extra Info: Do some Googling; all the reviews are A+. This has it all (minus the latest Atmos). Importantly has Audyssey MultEQ XT32, pre outs, two HDMI outs and supports 4K. Well reviewed and highly regarded. All accessories included; boxed and ready to go.

I’ve got one of these, does a very good job of HT as long as you don’t need the latest gizmos. Lots of power and pretty heavy compared to the new models.

Yes my back can attest. You won’t get anywhere near this quality if you take $550 to JB Hifi or other box mover.

I believe the x1x was the last series to be affected by the problematic HDMI board no sound issue, and the extended warranty ends in 3 months.

If you've not done so already, book it in to have the HDMI board replaced. It should be free

You need to check the serial number on the Onkyo website. I did for my 818 and it wasn’t on the list needing HDMI replacement.

Did you read the FS? I had it changed over under the program mate. It was fine but I did it as a precautionary step. It’s still fine. :)

I just had a look and cannot find this on the Oceania website, any chance you can post a link of where you check?

Thanks, Ian
