Slow progress. I'm stretched a little with normal show organisation at the moment.

I do hope to revisit this next week however and lock something down.

Well Iam learning a lot in this thread. Surprised to hear that those entering into hifi want to get into vinyl. Can understand the bluetooth thing for simplicity.

What.....of it's owners?😄

Did this system eventuate?

I was looking forward to hearing it at the show and didn't notice it.

If it didn't happen it would be a great idea for next year's show!

Yes, the intentions were good, and the idea had merit.

Sadly I'm not sure we ever really unanimously agreed on the lineup and with our biggest show to date, my resources became stretched.

My apologies if anyone attending was expecting to see this. I probably should have updated this thread pre-show.

2019 ... perhaps.

Budget/starter systems/components were at the show anyway.

There was those really -good-value-for-money Legend speakers for example.

There was the really-good-value-for-money home theatre at the Selbys room, as an other example.

I saw some great value turntables at the VAF room, as a further example.

I am sure that there were more examples but these spring to mind without even working at it.

It is just that they were spread out rather than condensed!

I thought VAF went close to offering what you were after. However more than once I noticed they had the wrong display card on the wrong system confusing prospective customers. As sales people were mostly dealing with enquiries I didn't mention it though. I think they were very busy with real customers, not just tyre kickers like in the high end rooms.

No problems Marc, I could see how the thread was fractured and it was taking time, and I understand what a huge undertaking the whole show was.

We had the following setup and playing in the Record Fair room:

Cambridge Audio Azur amp

Rega P1 turntable

Elac B6 speakers

All brand new, out of the boxes.
