Scanning the TV programme, I note that Beaches is back on for it's umpteenth repeat on Channel 11 tonight.

For you guys (and I do mean GUYS) who have not had the pleasure of watching Beaches, because your girlfriend/wife/whatever desperately wanted to see it, then I can't tell you much about it. I tried, on three separate occasions to watch the entire movie. I didn't make it. I fell asleep every time.

Worst chick-flick of all time.

Don't bother.

OK. I'll amend my statement to read:

"Worst chick-flick I have ever seen."

Surely the worst you've seen parts of?

Silkwood is not a chick flick, it is actually about something that really happened.

Agreed, SILKWOOD documents an actual frightening event from the U.S.A. involving a nuclear meltdown and subsequent attempts to cover it up. From memory, I think Harrisburg/ Three Mile Island. Google to be educated.

Not in the least bit a "chick flick" .

Billy.

This tread has a sexist undertone. 'Beaches' is a good movie about enduring friendship, something that even 'guys' could/should value.
