Passive Stereo Soundbar

Recommended Posts

I've looked around but not found much for my particular application.

I'm looking for a passive, stereo soundbar style speaker. It's to sit atop a TV unit but to be connected to a 2.1 channel AVR.

Plenty of traditional soundbars around, but I don't want a shallow little plastic unit with Bluetooth and active power etc.

Just a simple pair of stereo speakers (4" perhaps) mounted in one MDF unit in a low profile.

I would have thought there would be a market for this type of product?

I don’t know about stereo only passive, but a number of 3.0 passive doing the rounds.

I suppose you could get one of those and run just the FL/FR channels?

Something like a GoldenEar SuperSat 3C (C for horizontal tweeter arrangement)? Get two of those and mount them side-by-side.

Still hunting. The 3.0 passives are still plastic'y and 4" deep (no enclosure volume).

Thanks for the suggestion but if I do that, I may as well just use any number of the bookshelves I have kicking around here.

I just thought there would be a commercial product for what I want. Might have to chat to @Lenehan Audio I think.

Right, I mean two of these mounted horizontally side-by-side. Would work out shorter (2 x 30.5cm) than the SuperCinema soundbar (124.5cm) and fits the requirements of 2 channels.

Try Edward at Adelaide speakers, he has a couple of different models and could probably up the specs depending on what level you wanted to go to.
