JimmyShell
Hi all, Anyone know what bulbs I need for the VU meters in a Sansui SC 5330 cassette deck and where I might obtain them? Thanks in advance, James
audiofeline
The service manual is downloadable from HiFi Engine (free registrtion req.): https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/sansui/sc-5330.shtml Fig. 6.3 lists an "Illumination lamp" 8V 65mA I'm not sure if this refers you to the bulbs you need, if not I'll leave you to trawl through the service manual. Thanks in advance, James Can you measure the diameter and length of the lamp? I seem to recall that some of the Sansuis used non-standard lamps. Usually, lamps are supplied in 3mm, 4mm or 5mm diameter variants. If so, then obtaining them will be easy. If not, then not so much.
audiofeline
If they are non-standard bulbs then it may be worthwhile to convert the globes to LED illumination (depends of course on the physical space available).
Uglu
I don't recall exactly what bulbs they use but as long as you know the voltage which one member has provided it is an easy fix but you might need to solder them. Jaycar electronics sell some rice grain types that come with a lead attached, I am sure you can get them to fit. Choose the next higher voltage either 9 or 12V
