I’m a bit surprised by the poor response out of nearly 148000 members 46 Have bothered to vote I guess the threads get lost as they go down the page.

Or maybe members (like me) consider the thread to be pointless ... so we just ignored the poll?

I don’t see the point of posting this statement in the thread considering you think it’s ‘useless’.

So, it doesn't interest you, fair enough.  Many others appear to disagree.

Thank goodness for choice then.

True, Mb ... I merely posted because there was BATMAQN bemoaning the poor response from 148,000 SNA members.  :)

As they say, any publicity is good publicity!  ?

We now have 155 voters, not many polls get this far!

It has stood the test of time without going off on different tangents as seems to occur in a lot of threads, good to see.

Thank you for the 166 responses.  Time to revive this thread. and let's see whether we can get to 200.

For  stereo, just over half of us have American (83/164) and British (83) gear. The Japanese (76) came third. Good to know that 40% (65) of us own Australian gear.  Two thirds with HT have Japanese (75/112) gear.

When I first started this thread a few years ago,  most of my spend went to Australian made products.  My initial vote was:

  • Stereo: Australian (most dollars), Korean, American, Taiwanese (yes, Synology!  All music on NAS.  Note that Taiwanese cannot be added to poll, reached max of 20 entries).
  • HT: Australian (most dollars), Canadian, American, British, Japanese

Since then, have done 2 major simplifications of stereo gear, transitioning through Dutch and French gear.  HT has also changed. Sad to say, the dollar share of Australian products has dropped .

  • Stereo:  German (most dollars), Australian, American, Taiwanese, British, Japanese,, Chinese, Korean.
  • HT: British (most dollars), Japanese, American, Australian

When you vote, include all your gear,  cables, power etc.  Don't forget software players, software processing as well as streaming services (e.g. Tidal, Spotify, Netflix for HT etc.) and streaming devices including phones, tablets for controlling streamers, source of music.

USA: JBL, AE, Eminence, Adire, Lambda, Mach 5, Sampson

Australia: ME, Quest, ARX, my own designs

Japan: Yamaha

Italy: B&C, Beyma, 18Sound, Faital Pro

UK: ATC

Most of the system is DIY, so most of the above brands are parts, eg speaker drivers.

Just wondering what Lambda you have? I just got a pair of 15" redone (the surrounds were a bit tacky and fragile).

Also, bumping the thread...
