Technically American but I suspect most people would vote Japanese. This is what makes this discussion of heritage interesting and fun... Interesting - I didn't know any of that. Japanese certainly feels right. I mean, the owners of the owners of the owners are in the US, sure, but the people making the design decisions are still in Japan. One lot says "sell more units!", but the other determines what those units are. I suppose it depends more on the purpose of the question. If it's a 'where does the money ultimately go?' question, then the answer is the US. If it's a 'what country's design philosophy is more popular?' question, then it's Japan. I answered Japan, at any rate.

Snoopy8
Revisited my votes and updated them. Realised that my Synology NAS was not included even though it holds all my music. It surprises me that Korean (South) has only 3 votes, given the popularity of Synology and SOtM SMS-200 in music chains. The other change is software. While most of us associate gear with hardware, software has an increasing role today. If your are using Roon or Tidal, include American (USA) in your selection. For room correction, I use Minimserver (British) with convolution in stereo setup and Dirac Live (Swedish) in home theatre. It is not easy identifying all the components but I hope you can continue contributing your votes...

USB and fibre cables from China. Media PC: 2x China Trying to cut down the number of systems I have so the number of components will shrink in time. I intend to sell off 1 pair Chinese speakers, 1x Chinese integrated amp, and 2x turntables though not yet sure which ones. As you can probably tell I don't really care what country a component comes from so long at it's performance is a fair bit better than it's asking price. When it comes to to upgrade capacitors, resistors etc it's all made in the US, Poland, Denmark or Japan.
