JohnL
Can't believe this hasn't sold yet..... A superb unit with Audyssey XT32 Room EQ on board.............LOVE my 80.3.... Surely SOMEONE out there considering separates can get by without needing 4K passthrough and ATMOS!!!!!!!!.........(just like I do.....) This had an RRP of $4K and will KILL most AVR's for SQ............ HDMI board issue can STILL be resolved UNDER WARRANTY till end of this year!!!! JohnL
No probs.......I recommend Buyer does it regardless by end of 2018 whilst it's still free. A simple case of going to nearest Service Agent It was a design flaw by Onkyo/Integra that affected quite a few models including mine.....(now fixed) Apparently the original HDMI PCB design placed caps, which heated up, too close to something else which caused intermittent audio dropouts eventuating in total failure. Replacement boards have design changes which totally negate the issue. GLWTS Edited June 4, 2018 by JohnL
cyberkank
Not sure, never had that issue. Although i am not 1st owner, the previous owner may have done it already.

Not technically correct. The fault is a particular version of Texas Instruments HDMI chip, which had a weakness and would stop operating correctly. This same chip was used in a bunch of models, including this one. The fault does not show in all machines, and the extended warranty only applies if the unit is actually faulty, you can't preempt the repair. Otherwise, GLWTS, nice unit. Cheers, Jason.
