Vinnie2000
Hi all, I'm seeking for your advice regarding the steady hum noise from my speakers, it's not that loud but I can hear it if i stay close to the speakers when there's no music and the level won't change when I tried to turn the volume higher : 1. When without the RCA connections from the pre amp to the power amp + the pre amp was switched off and the power cord was unplugged; only the power amp was on then there was no hum from speakers. 2. No RCA connections, pre amp switched on - no hum. 3. With RCA connections, pre amp switched off with power cord unplugged - no hum 4. With RCA connections, pre amp switched off with power cord plugged into either the same or different power source - HUM 5. As the same as 4. with pre amp switched on - HUM. I suspected it was a ground loop issue and even after doing some research from the net, I'm still not quite sure how to fix it! Thanks in advance. Pre amp - Burson conductor V2+ Power amp - Burson Time Keeper Virtuoso Speakers - Apogee Centaur Minor. Van den hul the first interconnects. A J
I’m surprised as both components from the same manufacturer - doesn’t make any sense ?
