Al.M Posted May 5, 2018 Share Posted May 5, 2018 (edited) For anyone looking at the LS50 wireless that’s over $1k saving. There are user reviews saying the Class D amp integration in it is better than the passive version with an external $5-10k+ amp. Not sure if that is true. The bass response on the active version is EQed down to about 45hz 3dB vs the passive at 70hz. I’ve seen other reports say the wireless version is constrained to 320kbps in that mode so cable source connection at higher is needed and then not wireless as such. While a $5-10k amp on the passive Ls50 might be overkill spend, many users might at least be using say a $1500-2500 rrp amp and that would be a more realistic comparison.
