cashflag
I'd imagine so. I just let the player update itself.
errupin
I wonder if it will be soon disabled with the next firmware as it happened with BD iso playback...

Hopefully not. With Oppo now deciding to get out of the game, they may resist such pressures to conform to such industry expectations. What would be really nice is if they also gave us BD folder/ISO playback as a parting gift! I won't be holding my breath, however.

errupin
Probably I will get the OPPO UDP-205, can anybody confirm if it also plays UHD folders with menú support with latest firmware (UDP20X-56-0224, march 2, 2018)? thank you.
k3nnis888
Does it support UHD ISO via LAN? Is the LAN a gigabit connection or only 100Mbps?
polve
what about Cinavia protection? When you play bdmv full bluray backup do you have Cinavia protection limit with standard oppo firmware (No jailbreak) ?
cashflag
The 203 does not play blu ray (or DVD) folders, nor ISO files of any kind. Strictly UHD folders.

ISO playback appears to be unreliable and very few have had success with it. But I haven't had any issues with folders. I'm not sure how the latest firmware stacks up with this though. For reliable playback of any file however, you still cant go past some of the 4K media players like Dune 4k, Zidoo X9 etc. Used in conjunction with the Oppo, the results can be outstanding. For example, I prefer the PQ when sourced from Dune 4k through Oppo ( via HDMI In) and to the projector rather than either direct. I'm not sure why this is so and you can also use Oppo's video processing irrespective of the source.

Zappiti 4K HDR player has a UHD disc tray - I think Zappiti is based on the same hardware as Dune but has pretty slick interface with more system units like a 4K HDR NAS server with ripping and library abilities

k3nnis888
Hi Guys, Not sure if I should post here. With the Oppo 203, can I set to 1080P output? I only have 1080P material and 1080P display (JVC X35). Will the 1080P quality be as good as an Oppo 103 since that is native 1080P? Thanks, K.
