Speakers for NAD 3020i Stereo Amp

Recommended Posts

G'day,

So I'm putting together the following kit for use in my study / home office:

NAD 3020i Stereo Amplfier
NAD 5425 Compact Disc Player
NAD 4020A AM/FM Stereo Tuner

Any suggestions as to what bookshelf speakers would go well with the NAD 3020i amplifier?

I'd prefer used ones, so speakers of a similar vintage would be nice.

Also looking for a NAD 6300 Stereo Cassette Deck to complete this stereo system.

Best regards, Lloyd Borrett.

Thanks. That's plenty of grist for the mind mill.

I'd been thinking of Yamaha NS-10m, or some LS3/5a speakers, but the latter are way out of the price range I had in mind.

Based on the input above, and some research, I've decided to go with a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 10.1 speakers.

I'm having trouble finding a NAD 3020 or 3020i. Either the seller won't ship, or it turns out to be an old ad and it's already sold. The tuner and speakers are on their way. Will just have to be patient.

Some sellers are very greedy and want about $300 the price they sold originally. I usually see them around $100-150 and sometimes even about $60. I’ve had about 6  3020 over the years, bi-amped, tri-amped etc but best just used as single stereo integrated. Of those the early 3020 with the loudness button was the sweetest with killer bass. The 3020i versions had better midrange and maybe more reliable as they are younger.

Just be patient they come up often and look interstate as well.
