SOLD

Item:  SVS PB-2000
Location: Brisbane North side - Petrie 4502
Price: $800ea  -  RRP $1500AUD

Anyone after duals I would  also do 2 for $1550
Item Condition: Good cosmetically. Perfect functionally
Reason for selling: Severe case of Upgraditis (wife says it may be terminal!)
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only
Extra Info: Up for sale is my " collection" of SVS PB-2000's,  these are about 12 months old and still have nearly 4years warranty left

The SVS PB-2000 is well known for being an extremely linear,  low distortion ,high output subwoofer with  near bulletproof limiters and spot-on DSP and box tuning. They use a modified Peerless XXLS12 ,which is a highly regarded driver amongst DIYers. These are pretty much ruler flat from.20hz to 200hz......along with  SVS's truly incredible customer service and 5yr warranty. (remainder transferrable)

These have been absolutely fantastic subs and have performed flawlessly since day one. I've had  both the PB-1000 and PB12-NSD (both also excellent!) and the PB-2000 is ,IMHO, a better all-round sub. The 2000 series has roughly 2-3dB more output above the NSD line from 25hz and up and digs slightly deeper. Even in my large, open plan living room I was getting very good output down to around 16hz (shown in REW measurements below). I was previously running dual subs with 1 x PB-2000 and 1 x PB12-NSD, then sold the NSD to a forum member and added the other 3 x PB-2000s. 4 was really overkill for my room/usage but I tend to baby my gear and would rather have "too much than not enough" headroom. It's safe to say these have had a VERY easy life here - running quad subs for the last year means these have been absolutely coasting along. Really only getting use on the weekends for movies with my 8yr old daughter (she's a bit of a bass-head already!)

Local pickup is obviously MUCH preferred (as these are big and heavy) and I don't have the original boxes (I have one but none of the internal packaging) but will work with interstate buyers if you organise things on your end. My local PacknSend are very good and I could drop off there if needed.

Will take some actual pictures tomorrow in the light

this deserves a good home and i am sure some lucky person will buy them... but if you send with pack and send you wont be sleeping well. from my experience sending a simple 18kg denon avr from qld to adelaide i found the following..

poor internal packaging.. basically bubble wrap thats it

poor handling.. fork lift fork thru the box

and the bonus a box no thicker or of use than a corn flakes box.

i suggest if you use them you ask for pictures of how and what in these beauties will be boxed before they are packed or research a specialised courier.

I'm in Brisbane inner north (Wooloowin) and have one myself. I still have the box and packaging if that would help you with shipping. I'd probably want it back after.

I'm not sure I could use a second in my movie room - it is only 3.6x4.8, sealed room. And it is already crowded enough :)

I haven't fired up the sound yet (still waiting on my couch, and projector), but I expect it would be too much :)

You can never have enough wooferage! :)

But that being said, i run 2x sb2000s in a similar (near) sized room.  Its about how you set them up but then again, the sb2000s smaller than the PB equiv.

Thanks for the kind offer. At this point local pickup would be VERY much preferred.

Lots of interest on Gumtree, but was hoping to sell here

And let me know if you want another! For a smooth bass response, IMHO 2 is better than 1- and it gets you 6dB additional headroom over 1

Another option for out of state people are interstate furniture removalists. They deal with bigger items easier but it doesn't hurt to ask or fill out online and the fees aren't to bad considering....
It really is a pity our country is so hugely spread out.
The price we pay for freedom (I was going to add a smart remark here) I guess!

It is tempting... I was thinking I could actually use one at each end of the slab table I have the centre on... You don't have issues with it shaking the speakers you have on it?

my 2 cents Mobe...

look at it this way.. if you dont buy one you will always wonder "what if"

at the price it has imo "0" downside should, after trying, you decide to sell. thats because there are many out there with 1 but dream of 2.

i do it all the time, i would rather know than not and if the process cost me a little at least i dont waste time wondering.. and when it works out it feels soooo good

oh and from someone who lives in adelaide.. if i could these would have gone in 10 minutes, but i cant alas.

No not at all. The speakers weigh a fair bit. And the more subs you have - the less excursion you need - so the less each cabinet will vibrate. Unless I'm REALLY pushing/demoing the system the woofers hardly move right now. As I said 2 would net you 6dB, 2 subs is the sweet spot for value for money, as to get another 6dB you'd need another TWO subwoofers (as I did)

If you are truly considering it, PM me and we'll work a deal out on the last sub

Yes there's always that. I don't think you'd have any trouble selling it to get your money back (or making some if you wanted - wouldn't bother me). If you buy this one and the guy coming for a demo this arvo buys the 2 he wants it means I've sold all 4 in 36hrs - so it wouldn't be a huge gamble for you

Give me a bit more to check. I just checked my clearance, screen etc and I'd actually need to flip it and mount my centre to the bottom of the table.

Or can you lay those SVS subs sideways? They are not downfacting so might be OK. I'll have a check...

Once you go dual, you wont go back.  Its much more smoother response and you dont need to dial the sub gain higher with a single.
